Synopsis

The issue starts with Black Condor and Ned Smith acting as witnesses of a trial. One of the criminals from Black Condor #1, Massey, is on trial. However, things are not going the way the heroes expected. First, the judge refuses to use Black Condor as a legitimate witness when the Condor refuses to offer his real name. Then one of the hostages, Bonnie Robinson, has some memory loss of the event. Ned Smith testifies, however, he alone is not enough to convict Massey. Angered by the turn of events, Ned is held in contempt of court. Massey walks free, and the Condor is called on the carpet for acting as a vigilante.  While Ned is in a holding cell, a guard on Massey’s payroll tries to kill him. However, the Condor lies in wait, and stops the corrupt guard. Condor and Ned flee the prison, and head to confront Bonnie Robinson.  Ned arrives at Robinson’s house, and Robinson shoots him, thinking he is Massey. Robinson tries to help Ned as Massey shows up. Massey holds Robinson as gunpoint, and is about to kill Robinson. However, just before Massey shoots Robinson, Ned shoots Massey. Condor arrives, and notices that Massey has rigged an explosive to the house. He grabs the dynamite and flies into the air. The issue ends with an explosion and bits of Condor’s outfit fluttering to the ground.
